My writing...

Heyyyy here's the first of many stories to come. It's about finding and getting my dog, cassie. Cassie is well loved, she's even my profile picture =D

Finding Cassie <3

On a cold fall day last year we headed out to the Humane Society. Sarah was jumping on her seat, and I couldn't stop smiling. We were going to get a dog, after a year of pleading with out parents. We didn't know what kind of dog we where going to get, just that she would have to be sweet. We headed inside with our parents, and were soon let into the place where all the dogs were. We looked at all the puppy faces, staring at us, telling their stories of being abandoned. I wanted to take them all, but knew that could never happen. So we set to looking at them all. Sarah and I had started begging to visit with these cute little black lab puppies when my mom pointed out a white mixed breed dog. She was behind one of the glass doors, and shared a room with another mutt. As we looked at her she turned her head, putting her one ear back. She was the perfect vision of cute, just screaming at us to take her in. I could tell that had to be the one for us.

We went up to the front desk to tell them that we wanted to visit with her. Then the waiting begun. We couldn't see her until there was room in the visiting area. So we waited. And waited. It seemed to take forever, although it was probably only half an hour. Finally we were led into the back yard, where we could sit and play with her. The second she was let loose she stared running around in circles in the little room we were in. She had somehow managed to get 2 tennis balls in her mouth. Even though this huge amount of energy would have been a sign not to get her to most people, it was the sign that we needed to get her to my sister and I. The second we had left the visiting room Sarah and I both started saying she was the one. We couldn't wait to have her come home with us.

Although having slight doubts my parents agreed. We were going to get her! As my mom settled all the paperwork we went to look in the dog shop to get her some toys. As we left the shop, with two bags full of toys and food, my mom came to use holding our dogs new leash. The whole ride back we debated what her name should be. Finally we settled on Cassie. I'm not sure how we came up with it, but it seemed to make perfect sense somehow. When we reached out home we let her inside, and showed her around. At first I wasn't sure about her, because my last dog had bitten me once and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again. After only I few hours with her I warmed up, it was impossible to be weary of her sweet personality.

Cassie has fit right family, although she's hyper and will occasionally chew something up. She is the sweetest dog ever.
